Foxconn close Finnish plant

Taiwanese EMS Provider, Foxconn Electronics, will shut down its Finnish telecom factory in Hollola and dismiss 290 employees.

Yesterday, a spokes person for the labour union at Foxconn in Finland said that Foxconn plans to fire 600 employees at its factories in Finland as it plans to relocate part of the subsidiary's work to Hungary. Today, Finland based Foxconn Oy, as a part of Foxconn Wireless Business Group of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, has confirmed that operations will be concentrated to the nearby Lahti unit in Finland. Foxconn also confirms that the company's other factory in Hollola will be closed, leaving 290 employees. The transfer will be completed by the end of the year.
