CSR buys UbiNetics software division
Bluetooth chip specialist Cambridge Silicon Radio acquires the software division of UbiNetics for about $48 million.
As a result of the acquisition UbiNetics will be shut down and all 200 of UbiNetics's employees will be transferred to CSR. Jon Moynihan, Chairman of UbiNetics and Executive Chairman of PA Consulting commented: "The joining of these capabilities to CSR's own suite of skills, coinciding with the present explosive growth in cellular handsets and services worldwide, will create a formidable new force in the wireless market."
