Jabil strikes Blackberry deal, adds 4000 workers
US based EMS provider Jabil Circuit adds 4000 employees in its plant in Guadalajara, Mexico.
This brings Jabil’s total workforce in Mexico to 20000 employees, news agency Bloomberg reported. Plant manager Cesar Castro said the company absorbed many workers that left other electronics companies in the area. One of the companies that recently closed a big plant in the area was automotive parts maker Delphi. Jabil recently signed an outsourcing contract with smart phone maker Research In Motion for the production of a Blackberry model. These phones will according to Bloomberg be produced in Guadalajara.
