Kitron to close Horten facility
Norway based EMS-provider Kitron is to close its facility in Horten, Norway.
About 15 employees will be affected by this measure. Kitron has decided to transfer production from Horten to Arendal, the other manufacturing site in Norway. Reason for this is the decline in orders.
The CEO of the Horten facility Tor-Egil Barsøe did not comment on the closure, but referred to Dag Songedal, Managing Director of Kitron AS.
"It was no longer tenable to maintain production in the Horten division in the sight of order decrease," says Dag Songedal. "I understand that the employees believe it unfair to lose their jobs, as they have manufactured good products since 1997."
