Epcos to make big investment in Croatia

German component maker, Epcos, is about to make a major investment in Croatian component maker Selk d.d.

According to a report published by the Croatian magazine, Vecernji List, Epcos will invest 50 million Euros over the next couple of years in new equipment and a 7500 square meters expansion of Selk's production of nano technology components. Selk has also invested another 5 million Euros in the venture. The investment will boost Selk's production for Epcos final customer, Bosch. Selk was recently awarded by the Croatian Chamber of Economy for its business development in Croatia. Selk´s cooperation with Epcos was established in 1992. Selk d.d is a Croatian company with 1500 employees. Selk was established in 1976. Selk produce electronic goods (LCD and analogue watches, clocks, LEDs, pointers and modules, electronic components, gambling machines and products in a field of optoelectronics). Epcos develops, manufactures and markets electronic components, and focuses on leading-edge technology markets: automotive, industrial and consumer electronics as well as information and communications. Epcos manufactures over 40,000 products, comprising a range of passive electronic components whose extent is unique on the market.
