Top 10 EMS revenue performance in 2007
The so called “Foxconn Effect” has continued to power the top ten EMS performance during 2007. However, several EMS -providers continue to face some strategic, operational and financial challenges.
For 2007, the top ten EMS providers surged 19.2%, which is largely driven in absolute dollars by Foxconn. The EMS competitive landscape continues to be a ‘dichotomy’ split between winners and the challenged, states Daniel Hawtof – VP, Performance Research, iSuppli, speaking at the ZVEI PCB EMS Conference.
However, corporate transactions – such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, etc. - are reshaping business models of leading EMS providers. Several factors haunt the EMS marketplace including gross margins, net margins, restructurings, senior management churn and strategic flip-flops, the analyst states.
