Jabil lays off in Florida
EMS-provider Jabil Circuits will lay off staff at its facilities in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Jabil Circuit will lay off 120 workers at its facilities in St. Petersberg, Florida. The reason is a decrease in manufacturing orders from Jabil’s customers – such as mobile phone manufacturer Nokia and computer maker HP, said TBO. Jabil employs 1,880 at its headquarter building and the two production facilities in St. Petersburg, with the latter working in pilot manufacturing as well as in military and aerospace electronics. As reported earlier, Jabil is also negotiating an incentive scheme with the local governments.
