AMD plans new German fab
Advanced Micro Devices Inc. plans to build a third wafer fab in Dresden, Germany, according to a report. It is likely that by the beginning of 2008 AMD will need a new fab, AMD said in a statement.
A decision is expected by mid 2006. According to the report, AMD's new investment could reach 2.5 billion euros. The new fab would employ about 1000 workers.
