Aeroflex acquires Gaisler Research
Aeroflex acquires the Swedish processor maker Gaisler Research for an undisclosed sum.
Aeroflex acquires Gaisler Research, which is a Sweden based processor-, FPGA- and ASIC maker. Gaisler was founded in 2001 by Jiri Gaisler and Gaisler has developed a range of Sparc-compliant synthesizable processors which are available under free licensing terms. Known as Leon, the processor architecture is used in European space applications.
John Buyko, president of Aeroflex Microelectronic Solutions said: "This strategic acquisition provides Aeroflex with immediate improvement and synergy in our IP, software, and microprocessor design expertise, product solutions and technology roadmaps."
