Chip manufacturers maintain register<br>to fight counterfeits

SIA (Semiconductor Industri Association) has released a list of authorised providers (distributors, representative) to stop counterfeited products. The register is part of a bigger campaign by the SIA against the counterfeit industry. The association is cooperating with customs authorities, so that counterfeited products can be seized at border controls. Until now, more than 360000 counterfeited IC have been seized by European and American customs authorities. SIA cooperates with ”Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International” to develop a new industry standard.
