TCL to produce for Samsung
Samsung Electronics will outsource the assembly of certain modules to TCL.
“The production is scheduled for 2009”, said a Samsung spokesperson. However, the size of the deal was not disclosed, Hemscott reports. This will be the first overseas – LCD outsourcing contract – rewarded by Samsung. However, the spokeswoman denied rumours that the China-based TCL could use a number of modules to produce its own brand of TV sets.
