Ericsson sales in Hungay up 20%

Ericsson has increased Hungarian sales revenue in 2007 by 20% to HUF 46.9 billion.

However, CEO Gabor Ery said, that the company expects a slower growth in 2008. Reasons are mainly the increased hiring of personnel for the research and development (R&D) segments. However, the company will not hire as many new employees in 2008, as the Hungarian economic does not warrant such measures. Ericsson hired around 250 staff in all business segments, which increased their headcount to 1040 staff. However, the company plans to increase their staff at the Global Service Centre located in Budapest. In a breakdown by divisions, the company's network equipment segment increased its market-leading share to 73% on the third-generation (3G, UMTS) mobile telephone market in Hungary in 2007.
