Continental to close down French plant

Continetal plans to close down the former Siemens VDO Automotive plant in Sophia-Antipolis, France.

According to local website SophiaNet the plant employees 93 people. The plant was opened in 1999 by Mannesmann, and was taken over by Siemens in 2000. The plant specializes in embedded software for the automotive industry. evertiq reported earlier today that Continental plans to cut additional jobs as part of the integration of its VDO unit and transfer part of its production to low-wage countries.
