Israeli defence firms blacklisted by Japan

Defence Companies from Israel have been blacklisted in Japan.
The Israeli Embassy in Tokyo has expressed concerns about a list which includes several major Israeli defence companies.

Sources told ''Globes'' that the list includes Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Israel Military Industries (IMI), and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.

A formal request to remove Israeli defence companies from the list was made by the Israeli Economic Minister. The list was not meant as an embargo. However Japanese exporters should make a risk assessment when working with listed companies.

Japanese firms may cooperate with defence companies if no products are used for military purposes or for the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction.
