Power outage shuts down Toshiba's Iwate operations
Operations at Japan Semiconductor Corporation’s Iwate Operations, a key production facility of Toshiba Electronic Devices& Storage Corp, have been suspended due to a power outage that occurred during an inspection on September 11.
The following day, September 12, Toshiba issued an update stating that it is assessing the damage to the work-in-process.
The company reports that there has been no significant damage to production equipment, and some lines have already resumed operation.
Toshiba states further that it expects to restore full pre-outage production levels by September 17.
