Lenovo selects embedded security solutions from Infineon

Lenovo's new ThinkPad notebooks will be equipped with OPTIGA TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chips by Infineon Technologies AG.

Lenovo’s new ThinkPad notebooks based on the 6 th Generation Intel Core Processor family use the OPTIGA TPM SLB 9670 chip - which is specifically designed to increase the data security of laptops and tablet PCs. Sensitive data such as security keys, certificates and passwords can be stored in the TPM chip separately from the main processor and are hence better protected against hacker attacks. Internet of Things: demand for embedded security rising sharply IHS forecasts a sharply rising demand for embedded security solutions (Embedded Digital Security Report 2016). Overall, the total market volume is expected to increase from 1.36 billion units in 2015 to nearly 2 billion units in 2020. This growth is driven primarily by the Internet of Things.
