Nordson acquires Swiss sensor maker Contrinex
Nordson has completed its acquisition of Contrinex, a Swiss maker of sensors for factory automation. The deal adds inductive and photoelectric position sensors to Nordson’s test and inspection business.
Contrinex is headquartered in Corminboeuf, Switzerland, has nearly 500 employees and generates annual revenue of about USD 50 million, according to a press release from Nordson. Its portfolio includes inductive position sensors, photoelectric position sensors and smart measurement sensors with integrated logic, with a focus on harsh environments and miniature precision positioning.
“Their differentiated sensor technology complements our test and inspection portfolio, particularly our growth focus on factory automation and control solutions,” says Srini Subramanian, executive vice president of Nordson Advanced Technology Solutions.
Contrinex will become part of Nordson’s Advanced Technology Solutions segment. Nordson plans to sell its products to Nordson’s global customer base.
