STMicroelectronics wants Jean-Marc Chery to stay on as CEO for one more year
STMicroelectronics’ Supervisory Board will propose that Jean-Marc Chery be reappointed as President and CEO for one year. The proposal goes to shareholders at the company’s 2027 Annual General Meeting.
Chery has accepted the board’s request to be available for another term, according to a press release from STMicroelectronics. If shareholders approve, he will continue as Chairman of the Managing Board as well as President and CEO.
The board says the decision is about continuity. It wants to maintain ST’s strategy, its execution discipline and the momentum the company has built under Chery’s leadership.
Chery became CEO of the Franco-Italian chipmaker in May 2018. Before taking on the role as CEO, he served as CTO, COO and, from July 2017, Deputy CEO.
