Tata Electronics, Sojitz, NRS to develop semiconductor materials supply chain

Under this partnership, Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION will explore and validate a supply chain management framework in support of the development of a robust semiconductor materials ecosystem for Tata Electronics’ Fab in Dholera, Gujarat.

India’s Tata Electronics, Japan-based Sojitz Corporation, a trading and investment company with expertise in chemical trading, supply chain management and business development, and NRS CORPORATION, a logistics company specializing in chemicals and hazardous materials used in the semiconductor industry, have announced that they have signed an MoU to establish a framework for collaboration on the supply and storage of critical semiconductor materials for a semiconductor Fab being built by Tata Electronics in Dholera, Gujarat.

Under this partnership, Sojitz and NRS will explore and validate a supply chain management framework in support of the development of a robust semiconductor materials ecosystem for Tata Electronics’ Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. The initiative aims to strengthen the safe, reliable, and efficient management of critical semiconductor materials, including those requiring specialized handling, Tata Electronics said in a press release.

“We are pleased to partner with Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION, as we continue to build alliances with global players to nurture the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in India. Our partners bring strong global expertise in semiconductor chemicals, safe handling of hazardous materials, and advanced warehouse operations,” Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD, Tata Electronics, said. “These capabilities will reinforce our operational readiness and support our goal of providing a resilient supply chain to our global customers.”

Sojitz and NRS are actively engaging with Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) to secure a suitable site within the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR).

“Leveraging our global expertise in chemical trading, supply chain management, and business development, we aim to support Tata Electronics in enabling safe and high-quality manufacturing processes at their Dholera Fab,” Kosuke Uemura, President & CEO, Sojitz Corporation, said. “Through this initiative, we will contribute to the growth of India’s semiconductor ecosystem through the establishment of a reliable supply chain.”

“NRS has consistently provided safe, reliable, and high-quality services in the field of chemical logistics in the global market,” Hiroto Tanaka, President, NRS CORPORATION, said. “For the Dholera Fab, we will fully leverage our experience and expertise to deliver highly reliable operations and strongly support the development of India’s semiconductor industry.”
