Tata Electronics, Kelington to advance development of Dholera Fab

India’s Tata Electronics and Kelington, a Malaysian integrated engineering solutions provider, have announced a collaboration to advance the development of Tata Electronics’ Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. 

As part of the collaboration, Kelington will support the delivery of critical infrastructure and systems required for semiconductor manufacturing. The partnership will enable Tata Electronics to accelerate the facility’s operational readiness for silicon wafer production, Tata Electronics said in a press release.

The partnership will also explore the development of local talent and advanced design and build engineering capabilities in India. 

“Tool hook-up is a critical element in establishing a reliable, efficient, and high-performance Fab environment, enabling seamless integration of sophisticated equipment and supporting operational excellence from day one,” Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD, Tata Electronics, said. “We are pleased to partner with Kelington as we advance the development of our semiconductor Fab in Dholera, Gujarat.”

Backed by a planned investment of USD 11 billion, the 12-inch Fab is expected to produce semiconductor products across a range of applications, including automotive, mobile devices and AI for domestic and global customers.
