SomDevices to bring μSMARC portfolio to CELUS design platform
Seven μSMARC modules based on NXP i.MX processors will be available as CUBOs on the CELUS Design Platform, giving engineers guided access to SomDevices’ power-efficient modules at the point where hardware architecture is decided.
SomDevices, a Barcelona-based designer and manufacturer of μSMARC System-on-Modules based on the SMARC module standard and embedded Linux solutions, and CELUS, a cloud-based electronics design automation company, have announced an integration partnership that brings SomDevices’ μSMARC System-on-Modules to the CELUS Design Platform.
Under the partnership, seven SomDevices modules built on NXP i.MX processors will be represented as reusable, application-ready design content within CELUS. Engineers will be able to evaluate module options earlier, understand key interfaces and implementation requirements in context, and move more efficiently from product requirements toward reference schematics and bills of materials, according to a media release.
The partnership covers four NXP i.MX based module families.
“Selecting the right System-on-Module is an architectural decision, not simply a component choice,” said Rob Telson, Vice President of Global Sales at CELUS. “By bringing SomDevices’ μSMARC portfolio to the CELUS Design Platform, engineers can see how a module fits their requirements, understand its interfaces in the context of their own design, and start building the surrounding schematic, all while staying in control of the final design.”
The CELUS Design Platform helps teams move from system requirements to a structured hardware architecture, combining AI-assisted guidance with reusable design knowledge to explore implementation options and generate reference schematics and bills of materials.
“Choosing a System-on-Module is only one part of developing an embedded product. The real challenge is designing a standardized SMARC module platform that can support future product development,” said Agustí Fontquerni, CEO at SomDevices. “By integrating our μSMARC portfolio into the CELUS Design Platform, engineers can evaluate architectures earlier in the development process, make informed design decisions, and move from concept to development more efficiently, resulting in faster development cycles.”
