Elmos and SK keyfoundry extend partnership to 130nm technology through 2037
German automotive semiconductor manufacturer Elmos Semiconductor and South Korean foundry SK keyfoundry have signed an agreement expanding their collaboration to include 130nm technology, securing long-term wafer capacity through 2037. The two companies have worked together on 350nm technology for 18 years.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Frankfurt am Main. SK keyfoundry's 130nm platform features deep-trench isolation, enabling highly integrated high-voltage designs with low substrate currents – a capability Elmos says provides a solid foundation for a range of new automotive products, according to a press release from Elmos.
The first product based on the new platform is the E550.01, a smart four-channel eFuse controller designed to support future zonal vehicle architectures through intelligent protection and control of multiple current paths. Initial samples are available and serial production is scheduled for 2027. The two companies also plan to jointly launch a space-efficient eFlash memory cell in 2027.
