Analog Devices to acquire AI processor company Alif Semiconductor for $1.35B
Analog Devices has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Alif Semiconductor in an all-cash transaction valued at USD 1.35 billion, with potential additional contingent consideration of up to USD 200 million. The deal is expected to close before the end of 2026.
Alif Semiconductor develops AI-native microcontrollers and fusion processors designed for edge applications, combining neural processing, sensor fusion, low-latency inference and on-device AI in a heterogeneous architecture. The company's silicon is already shipping in production with design wins across consumer and industrial customers, according to a press release from ADI.
The acquisition is framed around what ADI calls Physical Intelligence – the ability for systems to sense, reason and act locally in real time within the power, latency and reliability constraints of the physical world. Adding Alif's digital processing platform to ADI's existing capabilities in sensing, signal processing, power and connectivity is intended to allow the combined company to address more complete system-level challenges for customers across industrial, data centre infrastructure, defence, energy, robotics and digital health applications.
