ASML breaks ground on new Eindhoven campus
ASML has marked the start of construction of a second major industrial campus in the Brainport region of the Netherlands. The new campus at Brainport Industries Campus North in Eindhoven will eventually span approximately 350,000 square metres and provide potential capacity for up to 20,000 workplaces.
The first phase, expected to be completed in 2029, will house at least 3,000 employees, bringing together production, logistics and office activities in one integrated industrial campus, according to a press release from ASML.
A central element of the first phase is ASML's new flow factory – a next-generation manufacturing operating model for its TWINSCAN factory designed to enable faster, more efficient and higher-scale module production. The approach draws on manufacturing models used in automotive and aerospace.
"The growing global demand from the semiconductor industry requires continuous investments," said Christophe Fouquet, President and CEO of ASML. "As part of our global expansion plans, BIC North provides the space and flexibility we need to continue innovating and supporting our customers around the world. It will complement our existing office space and manufacturing capacity in the Brainport region and further strengthen our footprint in the Netherlands."
ASML's future presence in the Brainport region will be structured around three complementary campuses: its headquarters campus at De Run 1000 and industrial campus at De Run 6000/7000 in Veldhoven, alongside the new BIC North campus in Eindhoven.
