PEI-Genesis opens connector assembly facility in Pune, India

US interconnect solutions provider PEI-Genesis has opened a new production facility in Pune, India, its sixth globally and second in the Asia-Pacific region. The facility commenced operations on July 1, 2026, and has already shipped its first customer order.

The Pune site will handle value-added assembly of Mil-Spec circular MIL-DTL-38999 series connectors for customers in aerospace, aviation, defence and other demanding industries. The facility is certified to assemble Amphenol Socapex D38999 Series I and III Qualified Parts List connectors and will maintain locally stocked inventory from leading global connector manufacturers, according to a press release from the company.

With 48-hour lead times, low minimum order quantities and the ability for Indian customers to transact in rupees, the facility is designed to improve supply chain flexibility for the region.

"By bringing value-added assembly closer to our customers, we can provide faster access to critical interconnect solutions while giving customers greater flexibility in how they source and configure their products," said Steven Fisher, CEO of PEI-Genesis.
