AMD Instinct AI infrastructure goes live in Saudi Arabia through HUMAIN joint venture
AMD, Cisco and Saudi AI company HUMAIN have announced that AMD Instinct MI355X GPU-based infrastructure is now live in Saudi Arabia and serving customers. The three companies also plan to deploy up to 250 MW of additional AI infrastructure from 2027, as part of a joint venture targeting up to 1 GW of total capacity by 2030.
The production deployment combines AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and EPYC CPUs with Cisco's Silicon One-based AI networking, including the Cisco N9000 Series platform built on Cisco 800G optics. The infrastructure is designed for GPU-as-a-service across use cases from model training to inference, according to a press release from HUMAIN.
The next phase of the joint venture, planned to begin deployment in 2027 with capacity coming online in the second half of the year, will add up to 250 MW powered by AMD Instinct MI400 Series GPUs, AMD EPYC CPUs and AMD ROCm open software alongside Cisco networking infrastructure.
"Bringing AMD Instinct systems online in Saudi Arabia is an important milestone in our work with HUMAIN. Together, we are building an open, high-performance AI platform that is serving customers today and will scale significantly in the coming years," said Dr. Lisa Su, chair and CEO of AMD.
HUMAIN is a company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and positions itself as a sovereign AI platform, giving customers control over data residency, model customisation and deployment governance.
