Nvidia and MediaTek deepen partnership across AI infrastructure, PCs and automotive
Nvidia and MediaTek have announced an expanded collaboration spanning cloud AI infrastructure, local AI computing and automotive. As part of the deal, Nvidia has invested USD 3.5 billion in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek.
The centrepiece of the expanded partnership is MediaTek's adoption of Nvidia's NVLink Fusion platform, which provides hyperscalers, cloud service providers and frontier model developers with a prevalidated path to develop custom XPUs – accelerator chips – that connect into Nvidia's rack-scale AI factory architecture.
Rather than engineering every surrounding element from scratch, customers can focus on their differentiated compute while relying on Nvidia and MediaTek for connectivity, memory architecture, packaging and rack-scale technologies, according to a press release from the companies.

Together, we're building platforms that bring NVIDIA accelerated computing to new markets," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia.
The collaboration spans three areas. In AI infrastructure, MediaTek will work with the NVLink Fusion ecosystem to enable customers to build custom AI accelerators integrated with Nvidia's rack-scale systems. In local AI computing, the two companies will continue developing chips for Nvidia's RTX Spark and DGX Spark platforms – consumer PCs, AI developer supercomputers and enterprise workstations that combine Nvidia GPUs with MediaTek SoCs. In automotive, the partnership continues across multiple generations of AI-powered, software-defined vehicle platforms.
