Beyond the headlines: a live semiconductor market conversation in Gothenburg
The semiconductor market is moving fast – but the headlines and numbers only tell part of the story. Prices are increasing, lead times are stretching, and geopolitics is reshaping how companies think about sourcing. What's harder to see from the outside is how all of this is playing out in practice: in customer behaviour, in order flows, in the conversations that happen daily between distributors, manufacturers and buyers.
That's the perspective Sebastian Blom brings to the stage. As Sales Manager at Rotakorn Electronics, he sits close to both suppliers and customers every day – close enough to spot shifts before they show up in the reports.
Rotakorn's own market insights capture some of what's driving the current mood. Samsung Foundry has raised prices for advanced chip manufacturing by up to 15% as AI demand tightens capacity. Phison's CEO has warned that the NAND shortage could keep SSD prices elevated through 2030. Disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz are pushing companies away from just-in-time inventory models toward larger safety buffers. And new US regulations are demanding deeper supply chain traceability for defence-related suppliers.
But behind the data are harder questions. Has the industry genuinely learned from the pandemic disruptions, or has it just become more anxious? Has geopolitics permanently changed how buyers think about where components come from? And what happens to the customers who lack the right supplier relationships when capacity gets tight?
Those are the kinds of questions Evertiq's Dennis Dahlgren will bring to the conversation – and the kind Sebastian Blom is well-placed to answer.
Sebastian Blom, Sales Manager at Rotakorn Electronics AB, and Evertiq's Dennis Dahlgren meet on stage at Evertiq Expo Gothenburg on September 17 for a live conversation about the semiconductor market.
