Micron launches $250 million AI investment fund
Micron Technology has launched the Micron Ventures Paradigm Fund, a USD 250 million investment vehicle targeting startups across the AI technology stack. It is Micron Ventures' third and largest fund to date, bringing the unit's total capital commitment to USD 550 million.
The fund will invest across four domains: AI model architecture and data infrastructure, compute including in-memory computing and next-generation networking, enterprise AI applications including semiconductor design and manufacturing, and physical AI covering robotics and new device form factors, according to a press release from Micron.
As AI systems advance from generative models toward systems that can reason and interact with the physical world, the demands on memory and storage evolve. Micron frames the fund as a way to build deeper partnerships with startups shaping those shifts and gain earlier insight into technologies that will define future AI infrastructure requirements.
"These advancements converge on one common need: high-performance memory and storage solutions. Micron’s Paradigm Fund will invest in and partner with startups driving these innovations and strengthen our ability to deliver leading memory and storage solutions to meet the growing AI demands." said Rene Hartner, Vice President of Corporate Development at Micron.
Micron Ventures' Fund I launched in 2019 and Fund II in 2022, with the latter still actively deploying capital.
