Senior Material Europe advances with DCM-free production technology in Eskilstuna

Senior Material announces that the company is moving forward with the next phase of validation and industrialization of a new production technology that does not require dichloromethane, methylene chloride, often called DCM. The Eskilstuna facility is planned to be the first within Senior Group to industrialize the new technology. The technology is the result of several years of research and development together with chemical suppliers, equipment suppliers, and technical partners. After successful pilot testing during spring 2026, the company assesses that the technology is ready for the next phase of validation, qualification, and industrial implementation, according to a press release from the company. The new process uses a new extraction technology and an upgraded recovery system, and is designed to improve sustainability, resource efficiency, and production performance—without the need for DCM.
