Agile completes acquisition of thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering

The robotics company Agile Robots has successfully completed the acquisition of parts of thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering in Europe and North America. This transaction, announced back in November 2025, strengthens the Munich-based company's position in the field of AI-driven automation and provides access to new growth markets as well as closer partnerships with OEMs. As part of the integration, thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering will continue to operate under the name Krause Automation within Agile Robots. The combination brings together Agile Robots' AI-based automation solutions with the engineering and implementation expertise of Krause Automation. As part of Agile Robots, Krause Automation will also target new industries in the future, including consumer electronics, medical technology, and logistics. With this acquisition, Agile Robots aims to further advance the development and application of so-called "Physical AI" and offer more comprehensive industrial automation solutions—from robotics hardware and AI software to the complete integration of production facilities. The management of Krause Automation remains unchanged: the former CEO of thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering, Dr. Rolf-Günther Nieberding, will continue to lead the company
