Harman invests millions in Hungary

Harman International is launching three investment projects in Hungary. The investments will cover the development of research and development, the implementation of autonomous technologies, and the modernization of production plants. The projects, with a total value of EUR 131.18 million, are expected to create 25 new jobs in the R&D sector. A key element of the plan is the expansion of the R&D center in Budapest, which will focus on developing software and hardware supporting autonomous vehicle functions. Parallel R&D activities will be conducted in Székesfehérvár, near Budapest, involving experimental projects related to autonomous systems and information management solutions for new Mercedes-Benz models. The third component involves modernizing production: plants in Székesfehérvár and Pécs (southwestern Hungary) will be expanded with digitalization and automation technologies, and both locations will also install photovoltaic systems. Harman International, a global supplier of audio and infotainment systems to the automotive industry (with brands like JBL, Denon, AKG, and Marantz) and a Samsung-owned company since 2017, has been operating in Hungary for over 30 years and employs more than 4,000 people there
