ams OSRAM completes sale of ENI division

ams OSRAM AG has successfully completed the sale of its Entertainment & Industry Lamps (ENI) business unit. The buyer is the Japanese technology provider Ushio Inc., as the company announced in a recent press release. As part of the transaction, Ushio is taking over the entire ENI business, including production sites and approximately 500 employees, for a purchase price of 114 million euros on a cash- and debt-free basis. This sale consistently continues ams OSRAM's strategic course of focusing on its core business, aiming to concentrate more on digital photonics and semiconductor solutions while improving its balance sheet structure. The completion of the transaction is part of a comprehensive deleveraging program to reduce debt and increase financial flexibility. CEO Aldo Kamper described the sale as an important step in the strategic realignment, stating that ams OSRAM wants to position itself even more clearly as a global leader in photonics and sensor technologies, particularly in automotive, industrial, and smart applications.
