Anglia warns of longer delivery times amid rising market demand

Anglia Components is warning customers of extended lead times for certain electronic components as demand picks up again in the UK and Europe. According to the distributor, inquiries and sales activity have noticeably increased since the end of 2025, in line with earlier market expectations. In parallel, suppliers are beginning to extend lead times in selected product categories. "We are seeing a higher volume of inquiries and sales are picking up in both the UK and the EU," said David Pearson, Technical Director at Anglia, in a press release. "While we welcome the market recovery, some suppliers are now extending lead times—not across the board yet, but in specific areas like MEMS semiconductors." Pearson notes that demand from AI data centres is causing some manufacturers to shift capacity towards higher-margin products. For example, memory makers are switching production from consumer memory modules to High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM), increasing pressure on classic DRAM products like DDR memory. According to Anglia, these developments are also starting to show price effects, with price increases of around 3 to 5 percent observed in individual segments, though not across the entire market. The situation is exacerbated by lower inventory levels in the distribution channel. After the inventory reductions of recent years, excess stock has largely been cleared. With demand continuing to rise, Anglia therefore anticipates shortages and longer lead times, though the exact timing remains unclear. "We don't know exactly when the tipping point will be reached," says Pearson, "but we are sure it is coming. We therefore strongly advise placing call-off and scheduled orders now, before component manufacturers close their books for 2026—which has already happened with one memory supplier
