Vesiro raises 17 million – aims to halve server needs with Elasticsearch

The Gothenburg-based company Vesiro, a spinout from Chalmers, has secured 17.2 million kronor in a seed round. The funds will be used to scale up the company's Elasticsearch plugin, reduce energy consumption, and expand the market launch. Vesiro develops a performance-enhancing plugin software for the search and analytics engine Elasticsearch, enabling faster searches in large datasets. As global data usage increases, so does the energy consumption of servers and data centers. Vesiro's plugin improves search performance in existing Elasticsearch installations, allowing the same workload to be handled with fewer servers, potentially reducing the number of servers by up to 50% in some cases. The investment round included participants from Chalmers Ventures, Industrifonden, Länsförsäkringar Göteborg & Bohuslän, Yuncture, and others
