STMicroelectronics completes acquisition of NXP's MEMS sensor business

STMicroelectronics has completed its acquisition of NXP Semiconductors' MEMS sensor business. The deal, announced in July 2025, has now received all necessary regulatory approvals. The acquisition includes MEMS sensors for both safety-critical and non-safety-critical automotive applications, as well as sensors for industrial applications. When the deal was announced, STMicroelectronics stated that the purchase price could amount to a total of up to $950 million, depending on future performance-based conditions. According to ST, the acquired business is expected to contribute revenues in the mid-$40 million range in the first quarter of 2026. The company states that the acquisition strengthens its position in automotive-related safety and broadens its sensor offerings for both automotive and industrial markets
