STMicroelectronics completes acquisition of NXP's MEMS sensor business

STMicroelectronics has completed the acquisition of NXP Semiconductors' MEMS sensor business. The transaction, announced in July 2025, has now received regulatory approval. This acquisition strengthens ST's position in sensor solutions for the automotive industry, for both safety-critical and non-safety-critical applications, as well as for industrial uses, expanding its global sensor expertise and market position. The acquired business is expected to generate mid-double-digit million US dollars in revenue in Q1 2026. The move is driven by growing demand for MEMS sensors in driver assistance, safety systems, and industrial applications, allowing ST to offer more comprehensive solutions.
