STMicroelectronics completes acquisition of NXP's MEMS business

STMicroelectronics has completed the acquisition of NXP Semiconductors' MEMS sensor business, strengthening its position in automotive safety and expanding its sensor portfolio for industrial applications. The transaction, announced in July 2025, has now received all required regulatory approvals. It covers MEMS sensors for automotive safety, non-safety sensors, and sensors for industrial markets. STMicroelectronics expects the acquired business to generate revenue in the mid-forty million dollar range in the first quarter of 2026. At the time of the announcement last year, ST indicated the deal could be worth up to $950 million, contingent on performance milestones.
