Sandvik receives order for around $17 million for battery-electric vehicles

Sandvik has received a major order for battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) from the Canadian mining company Eldorado Gold. The vehicles are to be deployed at the Lamaque mine in Val-d’Or, Québec, the company announced. The order is worth approximately 160 million SEK (about 17.5 million USD) and was booked in the fourth quarter of 2025. It includes battery-electric trucks and loaders and follows another BEV order from Eldorado Gold worth 65 million SEK (around 7 million USD) booked in the third quarter. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-2026 and extend into 2027. With the new orders, Sandvik's BEV fleet at the Lamaque mine will grow from the current two to a total of twelve vehicles. Sandvik stated that the vehicles have already proven their performance in underground operations. The expanded deliveries are intended to help Eldorado Gold further improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability in its mining activities
