Cyient Semiconductors acquires majority stake in Kinetic Technologies

Cyient Semiconductors has signed a binding agreement to acquire a majority stake in power management specialist Kinetic Technologies, according to a press release. The purchase price could amount to up to $93 million. With this transaction, Cyient aims to strengthen its position in custom power ICs for high-growth markets such as data centers, electrification, automotive, networking, industrial automation, and edge AI applications. The combined company will address the global power semiconductor market, estimated at over $40 billion. Kinetic Technologies, which will continue to operate within its existing structure post-acquisition, develops analog and mixed-signal ICs and holds over 100 patents. The deal is expected to close in the coming months, pending customary closing conditions
