STMicroelectronics surpasses 5-billion-chip mark for Starlink

According to a Reuters report, STMicroelectronics has supplied more than 5 billion semiconductor chips for SpaceX's Starlink satellite network over the past decade. If current trends continue, this figure could double to over 10 billion components by the end of 2025. Starlink, the global satellite internet network, relies on highly integrated electronics in its satellites and ground stations, with STMicroelectronics being a key supplier. The chips are used in communications, control, and power electronics modules. The partnership is strategic for both, securing a stable supply of key parts for Starlink and providing long-term predictability for STMicroelectronics' manufacturing lines.
