Polish Army with access to American satellite communication

Poland has gained access to the American Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) broadband satellite communications system. A document on the matter was signed on Thursday, paving the way for the Polish military to use this global and jamming-resistant communication infrastructure. Poland has formally joined the international agreement concerning the construction and shared use of the WGS system. The memorandum was signed by the Ministry of National Defense's plenipotentiary for space, Brig. Gen. Marcin Górka. Once the document enters into force, the Polish Armed Forces will gain access to the entire constellation of twelve geostationary satellites, providing global coverage and high bandwidth for all branches of the military, even in heavily jammed environments. Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk stated this signifies a qualitative change for Polish satellite capabilities and is crucial for managing assets like drones and F-35 fighter jets.
