W5 Solutions receives million-order for new hybrid power system

W5 Solutions' Power business area has received an order worth 36 million kronor from a European defense company for a new hybrid power system. The system will be delivered during 2026–2027 and combines diesel and battery power to contribute to quieter operation, optimized energy efficiency, and reduced field maintenance. "This order is very significant for us and confirms the strength of our offering in advanced power systems. Through our European supplier network, where many components come from Swedish companies, we can deliver a robust and flexible hybrid solution with high delivery reliability and short lead times," says Tobias Johansson, head of the Power business area at W5 Solutions, in a press release. The hybrid solution can utilize a generator, the electrical grid, and a battery, ensuring a stable power supply under various operational conditions. When the system is connected to an external power source, the battery is automatically charged and can then power equipment without the engine needing to run. The system is designed to be easy to transport, install, use, and maintain.
