W5 Solutions wins framework deal worth up to 40 MSEK with FMV

5 Solutions has signed a framework agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the delivery of thermal targets for live-fire training. The agreement could be worth up to 40 million kronor, with orders being placed between 2026 and 2030. As thermal sights are increasingly used in operational contexts, military units need to be able to train with equipment that reflects real-world conditions. The thermal targets will be integrated with W5 Solutions' existing target systems and operated from the same platform, enabling realistic exercises that mirror the technical conditions of actual missions. According to the company, the purpose is to provide units with the opportunity to train with equipment that matches real-world conditions, thereby enhancing capabilities in modern combat operations. "Military units need to be able to train in the same way as they operate in reality. Our thermal targets make it possible to conduct training with high realism and in line with the requirements placed on today's modern forces," says Toralf Johanessen, Head of Business Area Training at W5 Solutions, in a press release
