Aspocomp with EU support for Oulu plant expansion

The Finnish printed circuit board manufacturer Aspocomp Group has received approximately 1.75 million euros in business development support from the EU's Just Transition Fund (JTF). The grant aims to increase production capacity at its plant in Oulu, central Finland. The funding was secured from the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of North Ostrobothnia (ELY Centre) and is linked to a share issue and long-term financing agreements announced in October, as well as an updated strategy revealed in November. This strategy includes investments to expand the Oulu plant, with a focus on the defense and semiconductor industries. CEO Manu Skyttä stated the support is crucial, confirming confidence in their ability to create jobs and become a key European supplier, enabling a rapid capacity increase to meet growing demand. The funding is part of a larger over 10-million-euro investment project to boost the Oulu plant's output by up to 50%, improve quality, and create over 30 new jobs, with completion scheduled for summer 2027. The total project cost, co-financed by the EU, is 5.84 million euros, with the JTF grant covering 1.75 million for equipment and related construction costs
