Nokia and NestAI form partnership – NestAI raises 100 million euros

Nokia and the European AI lab NestAI have entered into a strategic partnership to develop AI-based defense solutions. As part of the collaboration, Nokia and the Finnish state fund Tesi are investing a total of 100 million euros in NestAI. NestAI focuses on next-generation AI for unmanned vehicles, autonomous operations, and command and control systems (C2) within logistics, inspection, surveillance, security, and defense. The partnership means that Nokia and NestAI will jointly develop defense-oriented AI solutions by combining Nokia's expertise in secure, AI-based connectivity, sensor technology, and multimedia with NestAI's platforms for unmanned systems and C2 solutions. The investment and partnership are also intended to strengthen cooperation with European defense forces and other partner organizations. Tesi describes NestAI as a company with strong technical competence and strategic importance and sees the partnership as a way to support European technological leadership in critical security and defense sectors
