Ericsson, Saab, and Calian to bolster Canada's defense communications

Three defense and technology companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of advanced and secure communication systems for Canada. Ericsson Canada, Saab, and Calian will investigate solutions for both civilian and military use. The agreement aims to enhance Canada's ability to coordinate communication across various defense and rescue units and to develop interoperable systems for land, sea, air, and cyberspace. The companies highlight the need to improve command, control, and communication (C3) systems using data-driven technology. The collaboration is seen as a way to strengthen Canada's sovereignty and defense, with an emphasis on the importance of Swedish-Canadian cooperation for future-proof systems.
