IAR and Quintauris collaborate on RISC-V solutions for the automotive sector

Embedded and software company IAR and RISC-V provider Quintauris are initiating a collaboration to develop functionally safe software tools for real-time applications in cars. In practice, the collaboration means that IAR's development platform will be integrated into Quintauris' RT-Europa Reference Architecture. The platform includes certified tools for functional safety according to ISO 26262 and is intended to support developers of safety-critical systems for vehicle applications. The goal of the partnership is to offer a production-ready environment for RISC-V-based real-time processors, with features for automated build processes, debugging, and testing. According to the companies, this will facilitate faster software development and ensure that automotive safety requirements are met. Thomas Andersson, CPO at IAR, says the collaboration strengthens the company's support for RISC-V developers in the automotive sector.
