Mycronic receives Asian mask writer order

Mycronic has received an order for an SLX mask writer from a new, unnamed customer in Asia. The order value is, according to the company, in the range of 5-7 million dollars. The net sales for the system will fall within the current quarter. "This is a system that was installed at the customer as part of a strategic qualification project, which has now been successfully completed. We are proud to be able to transfer ownership of the system to the customer," says Charlott Samuelsson, Sr VP Pattern Generators at Mycronic, in a press release. The SLX is a laser-based mask writer developed to meet both the increasing demand for photomasks in the semiconductor industry and future replacement and modernization needs. The technology behind the SLX is widely used in the industry, where laser-based systems account for the majority of all photomask production. The mask writer combines high performance with low energy consumption and is based on the same technology as Mycronic's mask writers for display screens
