Creotech Instruments joins the White Rabbit initiative

Creotech Instruments has joined the White Rabbit Collaboration – a global initiative bringing together entities developing ultra-precise time synchronization technology, operating under the auspices of CERN. Joining the project is set to strengthen the company's position in the advanced satellite systems market and increase the competitiveness of its solutions. Creotech Instruments has become a member of the White Rabbit Collaboration. The initiative brings together organizations working on the development of White Rabbit technology, used for time synchronization with an accuracy of under one nanosecond. White Rabbit is an open-source solution designed for distributed and critical systems. Initially, the technology was developed for research infrastructures, such as particle accelerators. It is now also used in telecommunications, energy, and defense. The technology has been standardized as part of IEEE 1588. It enables the construction of large fiber-optic networks that distribute time signals from multiple sources. If one of them fails, the system switches to another without any noticeable interruptions. This reduces dependence on satellite navigation systems like GPS or Galileo, thereby increasing infrastructure resilience to interference and cyberattacks. Joining the White Rabbit Collaboration provides Creotech Instruments with access to an international forum for exchanging experiences, R&D projects, and product testing in specialized laboratories. The company has the opportunity to participate in the technology's development and shape the directions of its implementation. White Rabbit is a technology that allows critical systems to become independent of GPS and other satellite systems, while simultaneously providing synchronization quality close to the parameters of atomic standards. Its applications extend far beyond science. It currently supports the development of quantum cryptography (QKD), is finding increasingly wider use in next-generation telecommunication networks (5G and 6G), and in advanced industrial systems. It is a solution with enormous potential, moving towards the role of a global synchronization standard for the future.
